play God with iPhone app Godfinger

If you have the iPhone, you have to download this free app game : GODFINGER! when my friend introduced it to me, i went…God what?? He then says, dont worry, its not porn. LOL

Well, for those who hate facebook games like Farmville, might hate this game coz really, its quite a waste of time, but its super uber cute! You basically start of with an empty planet of your own, with very few population, which we call “Followers”. You direct these Followers to do whatever you want, make them farm and work for Gold, which of coz as we all know, can then purchase better items to “beautify” your little planet.

You get to rotate the planet, spin it, zap your Follower with lightning and make them worship you! ommmmm ~

Its quite an easy game, and rather addictive too. Pinch the screen to have a look at the solar system to add friends, and “enchant” them to get more Gold too.

In Godfinger, theres really 4 things you need to work for. Mana, Awe, Gold & XP.

Mana allows you to activate “natural causes” like rain, lightning, flood, sunshine, moving the land etc, Awe does miracles like adding power, healer, but Awe increases very slowly. The makers of the game kinda make you buy the Awe. Gold allows you to buy decorations and buildings and XP brings the level up.

Heres my little tip on how I play : i place the “working buildings” close together so that they can share the sunshine to power up. that way i use lesser Mana. Go visit your friends and “enchant” their followers with a star on them. They are the Super Followers, which generates 100Gold rather than just 50.

Followers get tired and drained out, supply them with drinks and a tent to rest in :)

Follower worshiping the totem to build up Mana quickly.

I enjoy this game very much, in fact, it make me wanna get the iPad so that i can play the bigger version! If you havent download it already, give it a try, but let me warn you, it does drain the battery quite quickly as the game needs internet / data connection in order to play.

Enjoy ~

Fisheye mount on Canon S90 tips

s90fisheyesample1

There are 2 ways to mount fisheye lens to your S90, first you need a lens adapter, 2 options here.

a) Quick-Change Filter Holder by Lensmate or b) RN-9 Lens Adapter which you can get over at ebay.

After days of research, i decided to go with option B. The filter holder by lensmate felt a little flimsy as its just glued onto the camera. Anything that i mount on it COULD drop anytime right? Well, thats what i thought, but the RN-9 adapter allows me to screw the adapter onto the camera itself. I felt somewhat “safer”.

However the not-so-great part about the RN-9 adapter is that its bulky and big. Anyways, after ordering it over ebay, a week later the RN-9 arrived. Its solid and well worth the price (under USD20)

Next, get yourself a fisheye lens, there are heaps to choose from, depending on your preference and budget really. Theres Vivitar, Opteka, cheap China / Hong Kong brands etc…all easily obtained over ebay. I didnt have to go out to any shops :) Heres some tips before you buy the fisheye:

- remember that the mount ring is 37mm, try to avoid getting step up or step down rings, it will affect sharpness around the image

- fisheye / wideangle lens comes with numbers like 0.35x, 0.21x, 0.25x, 0.42x etc….the smaller the number, the higher the “curve” / more extreme fisheye its going to be

- cheap fisheye lens from Hong Kong on ebay comes with free shipping worldwide

the S90 isnt as slim and sleek anymore!

Conclusion: I’m pretty satisfied with the overall outcome, having spend less than USD60 overall, the built for the adapter is excellent and im surprised too with the quality of the fisheye lens, it felt heavier than expected. Only thing now, with this setup, the S90 is kinda bulky and wont fit into pocket.
